CALLENIUS Branch

Brick wall

The first quarter of my ancestors came primarily from the area around Eschwege in Hesse. I have gathered most of my ancestors from ancestral passports or from the associated and still-preserved research documents from the 1930s, and this includes some brick walls. Therefore, the number of generations going back is unfortunately not very large. In addition, in these areas, church records do not go back very far. A detailed list of my ancesters can be found here in the form of a Kekulé-sorted ancestry list. In particular, the father of Anna Catharina Ottilie Burschel (9), born in Eschwege in 1799 and the illegitimate daughter of Anna Catharina Burschel (19), cannot be determined, as the father was unknown at birth.

I have additional documents, source references, etc. beyond the lists. If you are interested, please contact me by email.

The North Hessian church registers, for example, from the Eschwege church district, are now available online on Archion, allowing for further expansion of remote research.
